About
Leading Educators partners with districts across the country to eradicate racial inequities by transforming teaching, leadership, and conditions at scale. LE supports educators at all levels in four complementary domains that promote equitable learning opportunities for students: Learning Conditions, Equity, Content in Math and ELA, and Leadership.
Why We Invested
Unfinished learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic has further exacerbated historical inequities for both Black and Latinx students who are estimated to be six and five months behind in reading and math, respectively. Leading Educators and Chicago Public Schools are engaging in an innovative collaborative aimed at addressing inequitable access to standards-aligned curriculum and improving student academic performance. We believe that through Skyline’s standards-based curriculum paired with Leading Educators’ instructional and professional development expertise, educators will have the skills and tools needed to support students in meeting and exceeding performance standards, positioning them for success along their educational trajectory.
Looking Ahead
Looking ahead, Leading Educators intends to partner with nine partner schools. This translates to roughly 5,100 students. In year two, Leading Educators aims to partner with 20 schools serving 13,680 students. Through this collaborative, Leading Educators has the potential to help build capacity across the system of schools and teacher leaders to deepen knowledge and skill around instructional standards, implementation of curricular resources, and progress monitoring of professional learning.
